Techniques

Quintessential Roots (Basic Magic - 0): Upon casting this spell, the user's body becomes the focal and anchoring point of an area wherein a portion of all magic energy spent casting is trapped, rather than allowed to dissipate. The area spans a 30 feet radius in all directions, and lasts for 5 posts. Within it, each time any wielder of magical power expends stamina, the pool's power increases by 60% of the user's MagPL, not to exceed half of the stamina expended. The pool cannot retain more than 200% user's MagPL in power at once. By default, the user can then draw, as a free action, up to 60% of user's MagPL of that pool per turn as stamina replenishment.

Faerie Fire (Basic Magic - 2): This spell simultaneously protects the user with a 400% MagPL skintight barrier and lightning-quick flight capabilities (100% MagPL speed).

Will-o'-the-Wisps (Advanced Magic): Casting this chargeable spell creates four orbs of light, which lazily orbit or follow the caster. At any time, including during the post of casting, they can be sent away to strike targets, travelling at 50% MagPL speed. The damage each wisp causes is equal to one quarter of the charge placed into their spell (naturally 60% MagPL, chargeable by 20% MagPL per turn to 140% MagPL). If they strike, they deal their damage and disappear. If they miss, they promptly return to the caster. The caster may re-cast the spell to create more wisps, reducing the stamina requirement as necessary for wisps that still exist. There may not be more than four wisps. Wisps can be split up, and directed to strike different targets, or not strike any at all.
