Appearance
Selyka Marron is a woman of high fashion and societal breeding. That being said, her blonde hair and blue eyes accentuate nicely the soft features of her face and pale skin. Her 5'5" frame is accentuated by Camdyn Strozzi Original 4" stiletto boots, and a blue all leather Strozzi Outfit. Her fashion has alternated to a flowing white dress, with gold and silver belt and details.
Powers
Necromancy is something of a dying art. Selyka's brand of necromancy has nothing to do with zombies and raising the undead, but instead uses the familiar dead around her, accepting their spiritual energies and discovering the spells and powers that lie within them. The acceptance of power is voluntary for the spirits of the dead, and Selyka acts as an Ancestral Maiden, a funnel for all the emotions the dead had upon their death.
To spirit her along the way, Selyka had come into possession of a Book of Spells, which had been passed down her family line from mother to daughter, and finally, from her Aunt Amelia to her. It's written in a language only the bearers understand, and contains the Fountain of all Magics that Selyka can possess.
Biography
Born to Troy Zonas and his wife Rebecca, Selyka was raised from her very first day by Rebecca's sister Amelia. Life should have been perfect for the little princess of a girl, but fate is cruel. Troy had a long history of being abusive to everyone in his life, except his wife Rebecca. Selyka's earliest memories are of screaming, and pain, her Aunt taking the full brunt of Troy's alcoholic passions and tirades. By the time little Selly was nine, her Aunt sent her running out of the house, and she hid under her favourite willow tree with her stuffed bunny, Mr. Rabbit. The ground gave way, and Selyka fell into the Rabbit Hole, the ancient mausoleum of Amelia's family line, and keeping place of a variety of necromantic charms and the Book. Launching into the stories of the Book, Selyka was found to have an unatural affinity for the necromantic magics, Amelia guided the child, forming her into the necromancer she is today, carving away at her fear. The dead treated her better than her father, there was nothing to fear from the dead.
Tragedy struck when Selyka turned twelve. Troy came back to the mansion one night violently drunk, and spouting curses at Amelia, who fought back with her own necromantic magics to save Selyka, who was the epicenter of the argument. Before long, Troy shot Amelia through the temples, her corpse landed in Selyka's young arms. After Amelia was dead, Troy began taking advantage of his young daughter, beating her spirits down. She buried Amelia in the Rabbit Hole, and spent her years of abuse deep in her necromantics, lost and alone until she was nineteen.
On her ninteenth birthday, Selyka snuck out of the house and found her way around to the Night Market in West City. Buying a few things here and there, Selyka grew bored, and went up to the roof of a building to watch the stars. She wasn't alone. On the rooftop, she met Nathaniel Marron, and the two quickly became entwined so thoroughly to be married less than a year later. Ever since, Selyka has lived with Nathaniel in his house, and the two mages have been practicing magic with fervour, Selyka joined the Cabal of Seasons after Nathaniel gave her a glimpse of it. Afraid of healers who don't use magic, and of the mage-hating sentiments of the times, Selyka hones her skills at any chance she gets. It's never enough until she could protect her husband and herself from the most greivous harm. Joining in the 06 Budokai, because of her husband, Selyka met her first real live friends, Pamela MacNeish & Jasmine Carbuncle.
As of late, Selyka overtook her fear of Aethaen D'Argent enough to ask for his aide in healing her mental wounds. Because of this, Selyka's personality has shifted away from the nervous, uncomfortable, scared little primadonna to reveal the confident, compassionate and content woman that was lurking underneath her mental scars.
In immediate news, Astraea has been born to Selyka and Nathaniel. Yay!
