Champions of Ka
Some of the power wielders of Ka engage in a right of passage deep within the confines of the Jungle's innermost portions. The quest is hazardous, and often fatal, but those who survive and succeed at said quest become endowed with the spirit of the Jungle, to defend and protect. Champions can be chosen from any portion of the societal system, whether farmer, monk, or villager. All that is required is the ability to wield power, and an understanding of the mission and society of the Champions. Fate is said to take care of the rest.
These survivors are marked by their journey, and act as an elite fighting force and are unusually potent in their powers, whatever they may be. The blessings of the Champions of Ka are many, the responsibilities are also many.
Potential champions are said to be called by the Jungle, and must decide what to do with that call. Not all who have been called go to the Jungle out of fear, or self-preservation or any other reason.
The Mission of the Champions
- To keep the animals within the Jungles, out of the populated flats and vice versa.
- To watch for foreign invaders & attack where necessary. (NOTE: Anyone seen to act in a conspicuous manner is taken as a foreign invader, until proven otherwise.)
- To spread the Kaian philosophies.
The Blessings of the Champions
- Kadispeak: Ability to talk with all the native wildlife.
- Lay of the Land: Champions know where everything is without having to use markers or maps. Thus, it's practically impossible for a Champion to get lost within the confines to Ka.
