Appearance

Faina is a demihuman wolf from North City. She is tall by human standards, for a woman, standing just two inches below six feet. Though not exactly muscular or stocky, she fills the frame well. Her facial features are sleek, accenting her tufted ears and long, bushy tail. While a lifetime spent in North City has accustomed her to the blistering cold, she still dresses for the weather, preferring long dresses and heavy coats. Such attire does not seem to bother her even when the weather would call for something much lighter.

Powers

After an incident in which she should have been killed by an errant blast of frozen ki, Faina's own slumbering potential was stirred to life, both preventing her death and awakening the proverbial sleeping giant within. This strange manner of coming into power has not been without lasting implications, however; physically, she is much weaker than a typical wielder of ki, and incapable of producing their trademark bursts of flames and exploding auras.

In place of these abilities, she is able to create ice, sometimes to a similar effect, sometimes to a completely opposite effect; her most powerful attacks are wholly incapable of actually killing a person or damaging an unpowered structure, and can be easily survived even by a mortal. This alone made her a prime candidate for recruitment by The Initiative, an organization of which she is a member today.

Biography

Born in a small, unimportant settlement in North City, Faina has lived the majority of her life unaware of the world outside of the walls of her village. She has very little experience with technology, and is almost completely uneducated in common Cardinalian knowledge, to include the standard language. This presented no real challenges for her, until the day it was discovered that a member of the village possessed a powerful enchanted item belonging to a complete set of such items, rumored to grant the possessor incredible power.

A band of treasure hunters came to claim it, and in the ensuing struggle damaged the village severely, killing several members. Faina met this fate herself, struck dead by a blast of chilled ki. Though the treasure hunters were eventually chased off by the Initiative, the damage had already been done. As the villagers prepared to gather their dead, however, Faina stirred from her apparent death and entered a coma. Unable to treat such conditions with their primitive medicines, the townspeople decided instead to simply put Faina out of her misery. Rather than allow this, Nadia Ionaz assumed responsibility for her, and for her condition.

Over a period of one month she was tended to until she made what could be considered a proper recovery, only it seemed that she had come out of the coma with much more than she had gone into it with...
