Fel Nobel is a small, but bizarre and significant territory within D'hennex that was only recently ripped away from the older territories. Led by a dangerous, alien Elf known as Trenobel and his demonic mistress, Fel Nobel is perhaps the darkest thing to happen to the war-torn lands since the undead threat from the South.

Government

The lands of Fel Nobel are owned and controlled exclusively by a single, self-titled man: Fel Magnate Trenobel, the Wicked. Trenobel is no man, nor is he demon, or even is he a brother of any elf who walks Earth. He is a member of the Ketsueki Elves, a race of evil, cannibalistic tribes from another, distant world that hasn't existed for thousands of years. Trenobel only still lives through his legacy as a demon warlord. Through an epic tale best saved for other places, Trenobel's career of evil stumbled in the country of Cardinal, and he was eventually rendered back into his mortal form. Thanks to their influences, as well as his lengthy history in the Demonic Aristocracy, however, the Elf continues to wield a certain sway in the visceral underbelly of the netherworld, and with it, he fled from those in the country of free men who would persecute him, and charged headlong into D'hennex with every intent to regain his old power, without its eternal shackles.

Perhaps the most obvious and tangible example of Trenobel's influence is his tentatively loyal second-in-command, the Fel Archess Alisa Eclipse. She acts as the Magnate's living extension into the Nether, resurrecting his once-dead clout there. She binds the essence of demons with lingering alliances to Trenobel into the bodies of men foolish and twisted enough to desire a share of Fel Nobel's power. She provides his posessed armies with hideous, terrifying demon-beasts, which catch even those who fought with undead creatures and enormous mechanical constructs off guard. Because of her still rather immature and enormously flirtatious behavior, Trenobel has directed her to act primarily through subordinates, to keep their army on track and not constantly staring at the posterior of their high superior.

Below the devious pair are a loose collection of men specifically chosen for greatness within Trenobel's fold. These are powerful, heartless, fighting men with great experience in wars, united and tainted to the core by a select few demonic generals who once served directly beneath the ex-demon king himself. The combination of knowledge of the lands with an eternity of wartime wisdom and an affinity for things demonic lends great power to the Fel Lords of Trenobel's court. Within them, man and demon exist as one, and both personalities work together, symbiotically. It would be foolish to list the names of the Fel Lords, for doing so only invites mutiny amongst one or more of them -- a result of conflicting personalities -- which is quickly resolved by a speedy slaying of the mortal body and a rebinding of the demon to a new candidate. However, there are always exactly 6 Lords in service to the Fel Magnate.

Succession

Fel Magnate Trenobel loathes the idea that any other being on the planet should ever take his place. As it is his territory and his laws, he has set no particular ritual for succession to the throne, nor for the position of Fel Archess. When asked by her what should happen if someone wants to have his throne, he simply responded, "Over my dead body." ... It has since spread and travelled throughout the aristocracy that the Fel Magnate becomes whoever usurps the previous one by fatal force, and then, all other positions are filled by appointment of the Magnate and his subordinates.

Economy

With the meager size of Fel Nobel, and the makeup of its citizenship, the country's economy thrives almost completely upon raiding and pillaging of neighbor lands. While most of its upper echelons of nobels are instilled with a taste of demonic immortality and thus, do not need to eat or drink, the lowliest people in Trenobel's land sometimes are forced into cannibalism, gaining sustenance through the fallen from the battles between the flanking countries of An-Yneaith and the Demosthene Ascendancy -- many of which are deliberately ignited by Trenobel and his network of spies.

Fel Nobel is, however, situated smack in the middle of the highlands between the two countries, and as such, the area is mineral rich. With utter abandon for environmental factors, great burrows have been tunnelled into the earth for mining, and entire mountainside forests have been felled in the name of fueling the burning inferno of the demidemon armies.

Cities

Since cities are permanent foundations just waiting to be sacked by enemy forces, and because the territory is so small and the terrain so hostile, there is only one fixed city in all of Fel Nobel: Nagasu Regus. Based around an old, toppled An-Yneaithian stronghold where Trenobel keeps his throne, Nagasu Regus is little more than an enormous storehouse and military training camp. Dwelled by the horrendous, enormous Dread Wyvern, the city's intense defenses alone constitute a major reason why neither of Fel Nobel's flanking foes bother to forcibly take back their stolen territories.

While there are large bodies of workers, military, and aristocrats that move together as a nomadic unit and even occasionally have names, they are frequently on the move, especially as the war around them and the borders shift and change. They are also quite liquid, and occasionally break up into smaller groups, reconstitute new personnel, or dissociate unneeded resources. They have all become exceptionally good at rapidly forming a coherent, powerful whole before foes can recognize the threat, and striking organizedly into enemy territory so amassed with terror and fury unheard of almost anywhere else.

Foreign Affairs

Fel Nobel's affairs with almost every other country and province on D'hennex is decidedly hostile. However, the only two nations this truly matters to are the countries of An-Yneaith and the Demosthene Ascendancy. Between the two, Fel Nobel is completely landlocked, and Fel Magnate Trenobel uses this to his great advantage. He often instigates short feuds and wars between them, which weakens them and distracts them from his own attacks and raids. With every month, Fel Nobel's borders expand further into the two countries. However, it is almost always across scorched, war-torn, hostile terrain, so the two nations are rather hesitant to come crashing in to reclaim their lost land. They are usually more interested in combatting the undead menace to the south than the annoying thorn in their shared side that Fel Nobel represents.

Through mysterious demidemon emissaries to rogue lands, Trenobel engages in casual trade and even mercenary support to other nations, even to those previously described as hostile. In particular, the mafiatic government of Hüplaatste, in the continent of Azshar, has sometimes been seen employing unnatural creatures in their struggle with the misanthropic Namekian raiders.

On the other hand, Cardinal and Alaris have received neither benefits nor malice from Fel Nobel. Their governments deny any contact with any of Fel Nobel's ambassadors. At least, in Cardinal's case, it is possible that the hardships Trenobel endured there in the past have averted him from involving himself with that nation.
