These are the official rules for the Data Interface Race. For in-character information, see this page.

A Data Interface is nothing more than an artificial human, created by the enigmatic being known as the Integral Thought Entity to study the manifold races of the universe.

Nomenclature: Data Interface(s), Interface(s)
Class: Racial Overlay
Tech Bias: Same as original race's
Available Power Types: Magical, plus whatever PL type is available to its original race

Major Racial Advantages

  • Ritual Mastery: Data Interfaces are masters at performing complex spells quicker than the layman. Mandatory Casting Time for an Interface begins at 90 base days, and the progression follows as such:

1 - 90 base days: no preparation time
91 - 180 base days: 1 post of preparation
181 - 300 base days: 2 posts of preparation
301 - 450 base days: 3 posts of preparation
451 - 630 base days: 4 posts of preparation

  • Encryption Sense: An Interface studies the sea of data, what others call reality, with a keen and analytical eye. This grants Interfaces the ability to sense Ki and Psionic signatures, just as they would nominally sense magic.

Minor Racial Advantages

  • Oratory: Interfaces need not use their hands in the crafting of their spellwork. Only the ability to chant in their particular language is necessary to weave spells into being.
  • Ritual Practice: A Data Interface begins play with the Speedcast CT already learned.

Major Racial Disadvantages:

  • Energy State: An Interface is a being created out of pure magic. Thus, they find it difficult to circumvent or resist abilities meant to destroy energy types. An Interface is capable of producing physical-type effects via their spells, but doing so is learned at a lower step bias.
  • Specialization: Data Interfaces must always wield a magical power level. This MagPL may not be less than any other power types they possess.

Minor Racial Disadvantages

  • Arcane Nexus: As they are beings created via the manipulation of arcane energies, Interfaces possess a sensible magical signature, equal to 100% of their MagPL.
