Jungle Fever
This is the current major plot. Information here may be particularly labelled with what is only known OOC and what is generally known IC. Please respect these limits.
General IC Information
Trouble is brewing in the Jungles of Ka, deep in D'hennex. While this wilderness is already known for its dangerous wildlife, the Jungle usually keeps to its own. Recently, however, there have been reports of huge animals and beasts emerging from Ka, attacking neighboring countries' outlying settlements and laying surprisingly intelligent traps to snare and kill the power wielders who respond. Persons native to Ka generally point out that these creatures are either not Ka's usual fare, or entirely foreign. Even they are in the dark as to what might be causing these incidents.
Persons of authority in the Demosthene Ascendancy have been offering sizable rewards for action that independent power wielders may take to end the threat to their country. The Ascendancy has been, by far, the hardest hit of the places struck by mutated beasts.
OOC Information
With this plot, we have introduced Adventures and the Tough Crowd program. With Adventures, characters no longer need to be constrained to sparring with one another, fighting declared villains, and participating in plots to get gains. The Tough Crowd program allows new characters who start in D'hennex and follow certain conditions begin with three times their normal PL allowance.
We have also introduced a unique "plot points" system, wherein plot RP participation is required for characters to take part in deeper, more interesting levels of the plot. Currently, the staff are randomly hosting "plot adventures" which are like normal adventures, but geared to the plot, and significantly harder than normal scaled adventures. Participating in a plot adventure can earn characters plot points. Accumulating enough plot points will bring characters to the next plot level, but for the time being, there is only one level to explore. That will change, soon.
Players have been warned that this plot will take more than brute strength and constant fighting to prevail in. Characters may need to investigate things, speak to people, and solve puzzles in order to gain a greater number of plot points, or to fulfill specific requirements of the plot level.
