Leadership

Kalar Ebayeth rules this region as the Undead Queen, and has beside her the original group of forty-two, who were resurrected at the same time she crawled, newly-dead and awake, from the mire of a lake. Most of the forty-two are now captains in the undead fleet, and the remainder live in great tree fortresses along with their mistress.

Their undead underlings build grand fleets and structures, and some of the more advanced things they need are gathered on raiding parties to the other Drovinian regions, and to the neighbouring D'Hennexian territories.

Location

Since Kar Ellar Sumn is a collection of lakes, lochs, rivers and marshland, the main method of travel in the territory is by water. Most sea craft upon the poisonous waters have to be specially treated, either with magic, or with a special substance called Kaiger, which can be found in the sap of the enormous trees of the area. The Ellar trees which grow have a hearty resistance against the poisonous environment, and act as a reminder for the denizens of the land that even the darkest of poisons can be overcome.

Populace

85% Undead
5% Human/Living
10% Undead creatures/monsters

The populace of Kar Ellar Sumn is largely composed of undead souls resurrected in vengeance and malice, who have had their veins filled with poison, and study methods of acting out the anger within their unbeating hearts. The great warriors of this place are berserkers, who, once wounded, simply continue on until the last of their acidic bodies are spilt on the land in which they fall. The common bond of the ranks of Kar Ellar Sumn is their hunger for vengeance, and other than the need for continuity to destroy more of the world, the entire region would become one gigantic cesspool of murderous souls.

There are a few humans among the murderous throngs, who had mostly been raided from outlying human villages, or had been the center of a group of undead's rage. These humans act as servants and layworkers in the lakes, and live in small sections of the trees. Once the humans meet their end, however, they are raised as equals of the rest of the undead.

Throughout the cesspools, undead creatures that once resembled animals and sea-monsters slither and crawl around the ships. They feed on the algae that collects on the ships, and makes the ships, and eventually the creatures, luminescent.

Political

The lakes of Kar Ellar Sumn are wary of the other Drovinian lands, and often lash out in case the other lands ever think they could be conquered. Strike first, interrogate prisoners later, seems to be the policy in all things. After all, when you can raise the dead, why keep live prisoners?
