Appearance

Lean and wiry of build, of average height and with a long, thick mop of spiny jet-black hair, Cascabel is a fairly average Saiyaness. She wears her traditional armor constantly, only dressing otherwise when formality positively requires that she do so. Like most Saiyans, she is proud of her tail, and while on Earth, refuses to hide it. SHe is frequently seen with a beloved pet at her side who hails from the untouched jungles of New Vegeta - Susuri, an eighteen-foot viper resembling a vivid green rattlesnake.

Powers

Cascabel's combative style seems to mimic that of her pet, while remaining true to her Saiyan roots. Fists and feet, with the occasional ki-blast, make up the majority of her way of fighting. However, much like her pet, the Saiyan ambassador has fangs of a sort. She has the ability to twist and taint the ki that fuels her in battle, causing it to have a venomous effect quite similar to her pet's bite.

Biography

With the agelessness that Saiyans have, and the poor recordkeeping of New Vegeta's early days, no one is entirely certain just how old Cascabel Jadoku is except Cascabel herself. She is old enough to recall the events of the failed invasion, but only at some distance; she was with child at the time, and in the course of re-populating their new homeworld, Saiyan women have become unduly protective of their offspring during gestation. Like many Saiyan women of fighting age, however, Cascabel was not one to be saddled with staying in one place for the child once he was born and no longer dependent on her body, and so off he went to be raised by an elder aunt. This aunt schooled Cascabel herself in her younger years, and is currently raising that child's three brothers and two sisters as well.

In the intervening time, she has worked her way up the ranks of the New Vegeta military. She proved especially apt on assignments where both the heavy hand of Saiyan combat skills and the ability to talk one's way out of using them were necessary, especially given her somewhat unusual facility for learning new languages. In addition to her native tongue, she is fluent in the language of the Nameks, amd has recently learned the language of Cardinal, in addition to the common trade language used by those who ply the space cargo routes. Her last few years since the birth of her fourth son have been spent guarding diplomatic detachments while also serving as a translator, and occasionally as a negotiator herself when her language skills were up to the task. Her experience is extensive, and she has both learned much by standing silent in the background, and put that learning to use by taking the spotlight when it proved necessary and profitable.

It was perhaps that tendency in her, or perhaps it was simply the fact that she already spoke the Earth language to deal with the dipolmatic detachment from Empirical Industries, that led to Cascabel's appointment as the Saiyan Ambassador to Cardinal. The responsibility placed upon her by the King and his advisors was a heavy one: represent the Saiyan interest in interplanetary affairs, seek out Earth's native or quasi-native Saiyans, and recruit any worthy males of the species to visit home and potentially contribute to the plant's sorely lacking gene pool. Though she did not necessarily relish the entirety of her task, Cacabel viwed it as a challenge, and accepted the position with the intent to carry it through to the greatest of her ability. She and her pet were the first New Vegetans to travel through the portal system recently established between the Saiyan homeworld and Cardinal.
