Alothin was once an Official Teacher, and successfully taught several students the use of Order Magic, from scratch, to the point where they were able to independently develop and master their own techniques, free of his assistance. While he stepped away from that role for a time to focus on other affairs, he has once more donned that mantle, and significantly reorganized his pedagogy to take advantage of his progress in the mystic arts.

Training Offered

Alothin is capable of instructing students not only in further applications of the mystic arts, but also in the development of their raw ability to harness arcane energies. When instructing a student in the details of a technique, the student may receive up to a 25% reduction in base tech day cost before their own technique bias is applied.

Power Level Development

Master the Mystic Arts: This series of lessons walks the uninitiated through the development of basic magical power, utilizing both Alothin's ability to transfer PL temporarily, and the magicostatic density chamber's ability to enhance the ease of sensing and grasping the arcane. (Takes a minimum of 3 lessons over 30 days, real-time, from beginning to completion. Grants a MagPL of up to 300, depending on performance.)

Focus on Fundamentals: By discussing and refining their grasp of basic magical theory, the available raw mystic power of the student is increased. {A social RP which must demonstrate the student's enhanced knowledge of magical concepts in some manner. Student gains up to 20% of their own MagPL, depending on insight offered and debated. Using this successively becomes harder and harder.)

Put into Practice: There is no evidence like experimentation. Through a successful teaching spar with Alothin, both master and student shall benefit. Unlike normal spars, challenge is not as important as the concepts put into practice. (Student gains up to 10% of their own MagPL, depending on performance and demonstrated learning. Alothin gains 2% of his own MagPL, or regular gains, his choice.)


Primary Technique Development

These techniques are available to all students of Alothin, and require no special prerequisites other than magical competence and familiarity with Order magic.

Personal Techniques

Call for Consultation: Once the student is at a level to develop their own techniques, ones that Alothin has not developed and mastered himself, the usefulness of the master is not at an end. Alothin's broad knowledge of the arcane allows him to give the student insight into techniques he has not mastered himself. A successful consultation will enhance the student's progress in mastering their techniques. (A successful social RP will grant the student up to 7 TD in the technique, depending on its nature and performance. Can only be done once per technique, and only once every seven days.)

Axiomatic Strike: The student will learn to deal with multi-layered defenses more efficiently, becoming capable of more rapidly sapping the defenses of those who 'turtle' under layered defensive techniques. (Teaches Axiomatic Strike, a 60 base day technique.)

Beacon: The student will learn to invisibly mark objects and locations with a magical tag, allowing them to locate them again in the future. (Teaches Beacon, a 30 base day technique.)

Charge Weapon: The student will learn to harness the power of Order to subdue their enemies without overly harming them, by channeling magical force into an object. (Teaches Charge Weapon, a 30 base day technique.)

Entropy Resistance: The student will learn to manipulate their place in the flow of time, finding eddies that shift their personal experience of it, effectively enhancing their speed of motion. (Teaches Entropy Resistance, a 60 base day technique.)

Flight: The student will learn to manipulate the element of air, generating wind currents capable of lifting their body and moving it through the air with perfect maneuverability. (Teaches Flight, a 30 base day technique.)

Ice Knives: The student will learn to conjure and control multiple blades of Ordered ice, a highly efficient technique for disposing of enemies. (Teaches Ice Knives, a 60 base day technique.)

Lawful Reckoning: The student will learn to channel the raw force of Order through the element of electricity, blasting their enemies directly from a distance. (Teaches Lawful Reckoning, a 15 base day technique.)

Mental Resilience: The student will learn to channel greater amounts of magical force over a small period of time, enhancing their longevity in battle. (Teaches Mental Resilience, a 60 base day technique.)

Order's Bonds: The student will learn to entrap their foes within bars of mystic force, denying them the freedom to harm the student or their allies. (Teaches Order's Bonds, a 200 base day technique.)

Repatterning: The student will learn to eliminate the accumulated Chaos of combat from their system, restoring the proper Orderly flows and thus renewing their energy to fight. (Teaches Repatterning, a 75 base day technique.)

Spell Coherency, Minor: The student will learn to reduce the sensible signature of their spells, deceiving their opponents as to their strength. (Teaches Spell Coherency, Minor, a 45 base day technique.)

Spell Control: The student will learn to store spells in physical objects, until they will them to be triggered. (Teaches Spell Control, a 120 base day technique.)

Sanctum Techniques

These techniques are available to students who wish to learn to create a mage's Sanctum for themselves, a place of especial power for them. The only prerequisite is for them to learn the minitech-grade effect, Designate Sanctum.

Regeneration: The student will learn to weave an aura of enhanced healing into their Sanctum, enabling themselves and their allies to heal more quickly there. (Teaches Regeneration, a 120 base day technique.)


Secondary Technique Development

These techniques generally have at least one technique-grade prerequisite, or are otherwise the techniques of advanced mages, and are only available to students that Alothin deems capable of responsibly handling.

Personal Techniques

Create Pattern Overlay: The student will learn to create an illusion to disguise themselves completely, both physically and metaphysically. (Teaches Create Pattern Overlay, a 200 base day technique.)

Darkness: The student will learn to stop light in its tracks, temporarily rendering a location absolutely dark to those dependent on photonic sight. (Teaches Darkness, a 30 base day technique.)

Entropic Resonance: The student will learn to guide their spells into eddies of time, altering how the speed of the attacks is perceived. (Teaches Entropic Resonance, a 200 base day technique. Requires Entropy Resistance to have been mastered.)

Entropy Resistance Mastery: The student will learn to take advantage of the eddies of time, enhancing their effective ability to see and sense their opponents. (Teaches Entropy Resistance Mastery, a 100 base day technique. Requires Entropy Resistance to have been mastered.)

Gust: The student will learn to enhance their Flight speed for a short period of time, to tactical advantage. (Teaches Gust, a 20 base day techniques. Requires Flight to have already been mastered.)

Invisibility: The student will learn to shift the flows of Order, causing energy to bend around them, rendering them invisible to the sight and senses of others. (Teaches Invisibility, a 60 base day technique.)

Silent Casting: The student will learn to eliminate the necessity of the spoken spell component, rendering those who would attempt to quell their magic by silencing them impotent. (Teaches Silent Casting, a multi-leveled technique.)

Sleight of Mind: The student will learn to armour their mind against the attack of psychics and mind-mystics, preventing unnatural influences from controlling them. (Teaches Sleight of Mind, a 120 base day technique.)

Spell Coherency: The student will learn greater control of the sensible strength of their spells, to where they are very difficult to sense at all. (Teaches Spell Coherency, a 90 base day technique. Requires Spell Coherency, Minor, to have been mastered.)

Spell Mantles: The student will learn to form dimensional pockets and store magical fields there, ready for instant recall on the field of battle, enabling them to rapidly shift their magical setup during combat. (Teaches Spell Mantles, a 120 base day technique. Requires Spell Control to have been mastered.)

Still Casting: The student will learn to ignore the necessity of the somatic spell component, preventing their foes from disabling their magic by stilling their hands. (Teaches Still Casting, a multi-leveled technique.)

Item Enchantment Techniques

Defensive Gifting: The student will learn to enchant items on behalf of psions, to assist in their defenses. (Teaches Defensive Gifting, a 210 base day technique.)


Tertiary Technique Development

The home of Alothin's most advanced techniques, these are only available once all prerequisites have been learned and Alothin deems the student ready. Don't hold your breath.

Personal Techniques

Grant of Power: The student will learn to temporarily transfer their power to another, whether as a boon or as a tactical exercise. (Teaches Grant of Power, a 60 base day technique.)

Hinder Senses: The student will learn to make Order manifest itself in the physical realm, debilitating their opponents' ability to see and sense them accurately. (Teaches Hinder Senses, a 180 base day technique. Requires the student to have a technique-grade ability to sense using Order.)

Order-Sworn: The student will learn to tie oaths and promises into the very fabric of a person's being, ensuring that a terrible fate awaits anyone who would break faith with them. (Teaches Order-Sworn, a 75 base day technique.)
