Demons Overrun North City Ruins, Aid In Reconstruction and Relief Efforts
 +

 +
Unannounced, the demonness Alida Blandine appeared after a year-long absence.  An unidentified airborne object with a diameter of roughly three miles has taken up post over North City, and appears to be the source of the demons.  Eyewitnesses report several mortal survivors have been taken aboard the flying object.
 +

 +
Young women claiming to belong to the Church of Ecstasy have spearheaded the relief efforts, working in tandem Kasima Construction officials to expedite the rebuilding process.  Positive impact seems to have been staggering, though calls for Alida's surrender to the authorities have been met with deaf ears.  Attempts to apprehend her by mortal authorities and low-grade Ranger Guardsmen have been met with failure, but injuries reported have been minor.  No fatalities have been reported.

North City Obliterated
 +

 +
Over a two-day period of time, an army of mortal mercenaries and their power-wielding commander, acting under the command of Zachary Boskonovich, laid siege to the whole of North City in a sudden, unprovoked attack.  The city remained secured for several hours before word of its takeover reached the media, and several power-wielders immediately set out to rectify the situation.
 +

 +
The first skirmish took place in a large sports dome, wherein three children subdued the mercenary commander.  During a subsequent conflict, he switched sides and used his remaining forces to evacuate the city.  While otherwise preoccupied, the demoness Alisa fused her Nexus into the city, turning it into a demonic nightmare.
 +

 +
Much of the city was destroyed when, while confined to the Nexus, a Saiyan used an attack with nearly immeasurable power in an attempt to destroy Zachary.  Though the demoness was defeated and the Nexus torn free of North City, hardly anything remains of it.

None Die In Terrorist Strike in West City
 +

 +
Late in the evening, an unusual manner of bomb triggered in a downtown intersection of West City. The bomb did not explode and cause direct damage around it, as a traditional bomb would, however. Instead, it created an unusual bubble that froze all that it touched in place, and slowly expanded over time. Local police cordoned off the site and evacuated several nearby buildings while members of the Ranger Guard watched for any super-powered attacks against the city beyond the obvious, and researched the anomaly into the early hours of the following morning. Two power wielders entered the bubble of their own volition before the Ranger Guard could properly prepared someone for entry, and over the course of eight hours, a twisted, black form that had sprouted inside the bubble suddenly collapsed under one of the power wielders' efforts. The other was forced to flee. The bubble immediately collapsed and a small bit of unidentified language forced itself briefly into the minds of thousands before passing away harmlessly. The event claimed no innocent lives.
 +

 +
The hero of the incident, one Rey Czupryna of Westphalia, was acclaimed by local officials for his bravery. The other power wielder was never identified.
 +

 +
The Ranger Guard said they were still investigating the scene to discover the person or group responsible for bombing the intersection, but had not yet come across any strong leads.

Dangerous Criminal's Crime Spree Ends
 +

 +
The formerly unknown, dangerous Saiyan who has plagued East City with violence was killed in a hostage situation earlier today.  After taking over the Museum of Natural Wonders, he and his army of Ki Demons were valiantly stopped by the Ranger Guard and a civilian.  The Ranger Guard were forced to kill the Saiyan because he had just ordered the deaths of all of the hostages in the building.  Five local officers were injured in the battle, but there were no casualties, other than the suspect.

Deius Castle Changes Hands
 +

 +
Alothin held a brief press conference at Deius Castle to announce that he was leaving Deius Castle in the care of a mysterious, colorfully-adorned woman who identified herself as Seshuesi Suemn. Alothin cited a major Empirical Industries project that would require his constant, dedicated attention, which he refused to comment further on. Suemn, who is not officially employed by Empirical Industries, told reporters that the castle would largely remain open to E.I. and its employees, in exchange for maintaining the portal connection. She assured that the Tenkaichi Budoukai -- the massive power wielder tournament held annually -- would still be held in essentially the same fashion, on Deius Castle, though she hinted that there might be some aesthetic and style-based changes. Arenas on castle grounds will remain open to power wielders. In closing, Alothin noted that Suemn enjoyed a particular closeness to the essence of the castle that he could not reach himself. Between that and his personal respect for the woman, he said that she seemed the clear choice for the castle to pass on to.
 +

 +
Alothin later declined to comment on questions asked about the appearance of Shenron on castle property, two days earlier, or whether it had anything to do with the castle's changing of hands.

Shenron Grants Wish at Deius Castle
 +

 +
The eternal dragon of Earth, Shenron, appeared and granted someone on Deius Castle a wish. The identity of the wisher is unknown, though many assume that Alothin, owner of Empirical Industries, was behind it. The effects of the wish were not immediately apparent. The Dragonballs will respawn all over the planet in exactly one year.

Mass Kidnapping in West City!
 +

 +
Just a day after Kajitsu Kiui was arrested, and even before he could be tried and shipped off to the Prison Island, an attempt was made to free him.  An unidentified Saiyan (OOC note: Ban Ammah) held hostage a local retail outlet, threatening to end the lives of everyone inside if Kiui was not freed.  Soon enough, resistance was found in the form of  the hero of the day before, Onikara Shinto.  Mr. Shinto was seriously injured in the attempt, and many are calling him a hero twice over, though serious questions are arising over his actions.  He  supposedly left a man to his death, and his attack on the terrorist hostage taker came at a steep cost.  There were a total of five dead, and six injured.  As well, twenty two people are missing, after the terrorist and his accomplices vanished.  He has threatened to kill one an hour until Kiui is released after a deadline, but that deadline has yet to be reached.
 +

 +
As well, evidence in the alleyway behind the building points to a lesser struggle, but details of this are forthcoming.

Villain Apprehended: The Initiative Reveals Itself
 +

 +
The Saiyan suspected to have attacked and killed several mortal civilians at a religious festival nearly one month prior, met his match when attacking a jewelry store in West City. The Saiyan, identified as Kajitsu Kiui, soon met with resistance, as several power wielders attempted to thwart his plans. Among these power wielders could be found Onikara Shinto, a Ranger Guard trainee. Others included a feline demihuman, and two other unidentifiable power wielders. The power wielders merely identified themselves as being part of a group called the Initiative. It is expected that Kiui will be imprisoned in the Prison Island shortly.

Small spring festival razed
 +

 +
A small gathering of a few hundred people were gathered that day for a festival for a minor nondescript religion when they were attacked viciously by five suspects.  The first appeared to be a large saiyan accompanied by four humanoid looking men.  They first attacked and killed their spiritual leader then proceeded to attack the innocent people.
 +

 +
Arriving to the scene to assist was a felinid demihuman, a strange suited human or android(the true identity was never revealed), and a saiyan.  After using a false moon technique to turn herself and the other into their giant ape form, she left after he lost control and started killing innocent mortals uncontrollably and in much larger numbers than he was before.  The villagers were saved by the young feline demihuman which captured the false moon in a sphere of rock causing him to transform back after which he escaped.
 +

 +
The unknown female saiyan is wanted for questioning by the Ranger Guard and a sketch has been released to all central city and northern city mortal police precincts.

 +
A 'great beast' attacked the city shortly before nightfall.  With him was what many refer to a demon.  The two creatures murdered at least ten people.
 +

 +
Two people attempted to stop the beasts, was a felinid demihuman and a saiyan boy.  The beasts defeated the saiyan, hospitalizing him.  The demihuman fled the scene.  Sketches of the beasts were made available to the Ranger Guard, as well as blurry photos.

South City citizens strike back
 +

 +
More than a week after a state of emergency was declared in the South City province, the Ranger Guard and local law enforcement have coordinated a massive counter to the debilitating, chronic mayhem that has left the metropolis all but lost to anarchy. More than just soldiers and police, a veritable platoon of emergency services personnel, members of the Peace Corps, and an ever-growing counter-army of peace now acts like an anti-riot, sweeping through the streets and buildings of the ransacked city, repairing what is broken and replacing what is stolen. Hundreds of injured or dead formerly unaccounted for have been recovered. Thousands of looters and troublemakers were rounded up, to be shipped to Prison Island, where regardless of power-wielding status, they are to be held until they can be properly processed.
 +

 +
Officials on site roughly estimated a bounce back of nearly 20% containment overnight, which is being called "an incredible effort" of those amassed. Though much of the city still is damaged, on fire, and/or without power, the mood is very optimistic where once it was bleak. Though there have been clashes between rioters, rebels, and the police, the two main identified antagonists of South City's situation have not been seen so far. Rumors have spread that they have been vanquished, or that some kind of deal has been worked out between the opposing forces. However, no officials of law enforcement, Ranger Guard, or the city itself have come forward to confirm or deny those rumors. Command Sergeant Major Arnold Blackraggen, commander of the Ranger Guard and the leader of the operation to retake the city, could not be reached for comment.

Mutant creatures escape, cause havoc in Cyrr
 +
Rumor travels that some of the grotesque, mutated beasts that have been plaguing Ka and its borderlands were sighted a great distance away, in the An-Yneaithan city of Cyrr late one evening, caged and sedated and under heavy armed guard. The creatures managed to break loose suddenly during a problem with one of the wagons, and a bloodbath ensued. Rumors vary on how many died and how the massacre was put to an end, but Cyrr still stands and several rumors corroborate that a particularly powerful Redcap and a foreigner of varying description were instrumental in bringing the beasts down.
 +

 +
A wagon driver was hanged for gross negligence and mass manslaughter soon thereafter. Nothing seems to substantiate what the creatures were doing in Cyrr, sedated and caged -- speculation runs wild.

South City in State of Emergency!
 +
The Directional Council of Cardinal today declared a state of emergency over South City and its surrounding area, in response to the actions of Selene Alexander and her villainous thugs, who yesterday disabled the entire power distribution system for the city. Hospitals are running on generators, but otherwise the city is dark. The death toll is impossible to calculate, currently, but authorities were grim-faced when they acknowledged the fact that without power, there were certain to be casualties in the megalopolis, especially as the water and sewer systems cannot operate without the power grid. Disaster relief groups are already shipping in emergency supplies of food and bottled water, among other supplies.
 +

 +
The city's police force, helpless in the face of the strength of the villains, has been rendered further ineffective by Alexander's act of destroying various police precincts throughout the city, breaking down their ability to keep the streets safe even from regular criminals. City officials are doing what they can via an emergency command centre, but their ability to act is limited. Looting and rioting is alleged to have already taken place in some parts of the city. Authorities are appealing for calm while they bring evacuation plans online to bring citizens out of the danger zone until order can be restored. A reliable source indicated that the Directional Council is strongly considering enacting martial law in South City and dispatching the Special Adept Forces -- the first time that the elite force will see action within Cardinal itself, normally the jurisdiction of the Ranger Guard.

South City Bank Heist
 +
A power wielder today attacked a major bank in South City and levelled the building to the ground. The alleged perpetrator has been captured by the Ranger Guard and is being detained awaiting trial. His identity has not yet been released. The total death toll is estimated in the hundreds but an exact measure will not be known until recovery crews finish digging out the building.

Bombing in West City
 +
The Black Knights struck again, destroying several city blocks of West City today as the opening to their latest raid. The death toll has not yet been officially released, but is said to be significantly higher than previous attacks. Already, the bounty offered for the leader of this vile force has been doubled, and the bounty on his servants also increased. However, this attack did not go without loss to the Black Knights, as the Ranger Guard have confirmed that at least two of the Black Knights were killed by defending power wielders during the course of driving off the villain. At least one power wielder also assisted in efforts to search for survivors of the blast before professional search and rescue teams arrived -- an unusual step, as most power wielders have been known to flee the scene of their battles before even the Ranger Guard have arrived. The police cordon prevented reporters from interviewing the power wielder in question before he left, and the Ranger Guard have refused to release his identity, stating that the security of their investigation might be compromised if they did so.

Sale of Terror
 +
Late-night market revelers had their hopes dashed as the Black Knights once again struck deep into the heart of Central City. At least thirty are confirmed dead, a number of people injured when the infamous knights released some sort of acidic toxin into the air. A battle between the Knights and a mysterious dark ensued, until the Ranger Guard descended upon the scene. Alas, it was too late, the Black Knights had already escaped, but the other power wielders involved were detained pending an investigation into the needless collateral damage surrounding the area.

Chaos vs. EI?
 +

 +
Disaster in Central City today, as the villanous Black Knights struck for the first time in two months. Witnesses say one Beyea Lurian of Empirical Industries stood against the leader of the Knights single handedly, and fought valiantly to the last. Reports vary about whether the woman survived the attack, but sources say it looked grim. Three thriving city blocks were totalled in the resulting explosion, leaving few leads as to what became of the warriors, and the occupants of the buildings. The confirmed death toll is well above the hundred mark, as of yet no final numbers have been released as rescue crews attempt to salvage citizens caught in the rubble.

Little Guys Tread Upon
 +

 +
On Sunday evening, an aspiring group of technological experts laboring diligently on a project that has only been related to the media as 'Echelon,' met an unfortunate road block.  Two women, unidentified but presumed to be power-wielders, entered a laboratory based in East City and outright stole all information relevant to the product the men and women had been designing.  Though the scientists have been surprisingly tight-lipped with authorities, general grumblings have been sent in Empirical Industries' direction.  No clear connection can be gleaned with how uncooperative the individuals involved are being, though some are beginning to speculate...

McEathon Arrested!
 +

 +
Late Friday afternoon, one of the nation's most controversial figures, Brian McEathon, contacted the press to inform them that he was going to turn himself over to the authorities.  There is video coverage which will be aired tonight on the eleven o'clock news that features a well dressed Mr. McEathon walking calmly up the steps of the Municipal Building in Capital City.  He was arrested just before six and was taken to an undisclosed location.
 +

 +
Channel Seven news anchor, Malinda Jones, managed a short interview with Mr. McEathon just before his arrest; he is quoted as saying: "I've always felt that laws are here for a reason and that everyone should follow them, I'm just sorry I didn't do this sooner."  Stay tuned for updates on the McEathon case at eleven.

Succubus Reemerges!
 +

 +
After a lull in activity, the unnamed succubus that most citizens of East and South City are quite familiar with appeared off the coast of East along with at least ten other power-wielding demons.  Though their presence was detected some ten miles off, allowing the personnel at Moody Ranger Base a few moments of preparation, other power-wielders did not come on to the scene until the order to  withdraw from the base was given.  Though the complete destruction of the base was prevented as a human, Saiyan, and demihuman stalled the attackers long enough for more powered help to arrive, the damage done is extensive.  The base is reporting that until repairs can be made and more supplies can be requisitioned, the location is considered MICAP, or mission-incapable.
 +

 +
There were no fatalities during the attack, though one of the power-wielders on the scene, who had volunteered to spend time training  the body of mortal Rangers stationed at Moody RB, was incapacitated by what appeared to be the leader of the raid.  It is reported that he was taken to Deius, and has recovered fully from his injuries.

Narrow Escapes!
 +

 +
Yet another museum has been pillaged in West City today, as the Black Knights slated their blood-lusts for valuable artifacts. Reports from the authorities state that several people were severely hurt in this attack, spectators all correlate in the supposition that it was, in fact, the leader of the Black Knights, who narrowly escaped. The museum officials have not released a list of the stolen items so far. A Saiyan woman was found with her fingerprints over an artifact, and its damaged case inside the museum, and she has been detained for questioning by the Ranger Guard. Little is known about her involvement with the Black Knights.

Black Knights End Drug Cartel
 +

 +
Late tuesday morning, a well-known gang stronghold in West City was destroyed by none other than the Black Knights. The gang, which was led and populated with known demi-human criminals, was manufacturing illicit drugs in an abandoned warehouse for sale in the surrounding neighbourhood, when the Black Knights appeared and blew it up. A woman and a man were reported to have attempted to thwart the Black Knights, but investigators have since seen that one of them was severely harmed. Authorities are looking for leads in order to find the Knights, and the heroes in question. By the end of the battle another full city block was decimated by the Knights. Was it cleaning the streets, or racial cleansing? Only the Black Knights know for sure.

The Black Knights terrorized Central City Saturday afternoon with mass robbery and the damage of massive amounts of demolition crews on schedule to destroy some old buildings. The houses were gutted, and no one died during the raid.

The Black Knights have struck again! The band of criminals have continued with their targetting of demi-humans and aliens around Cardinal with dismal results from the power wielding community. In the last raid, only the Black Knight himself and two of his underlings took to the scene murdering and causing mayhem as they went through a two block section of Central Capital's lower income area thursday night. One avenger, a reptilian demi-human, was said to oppose the Black Knight's massacre, but nothing is known about his identity or whereabouts. Gross collateral damage reported.

Slaughter in West
 +

 +
A night of mourning for West City, as the Black Knights have attacked their second bustling city block in two days, nigh on levelling several buildings in a Saiyan-rich area of West City. Scaling up from the usual allowance for the mortal populace to vacate their chosen battle places, the main objective of the attack seemed to be the large-scale slaughter of Saiyans and demi-humans, as most of the human population of the area were allowed to escape the onslaught. The few witnesses left were able to see five power wielders combatting the Black Knight menace, but the leader and his band of knights escaped once again. Authorities are making the capture and punishment of this lethal menace one of their priorities. Close to 100 Saiyans and demi-humans are thought to be deceased due to the attack.

Monsters in Central, City Block Leveled
Late friday evening, the yet unnamed armoured menace and his band of Knights threatened a bustling section of late-night cafe and restaurant goers, destroying mass amounts of property. But this band of Knights was not alone, as another more sinister enemy arose from the shadows in an attempt to feast on the living. The band of Knights fought back, along with Ranger Guard Carson Andraeus, and civilian Brian McEaton, but seemed to prey on the heroes as well. The Knights escaped as half a city block was completely levelled, and three blocks in either direction had broken windows, small time damage from the resulting shockwave. Authorities believe the Knights were responsible for the explosion. The monstrous unknown humanoid fiend escaped, and is considered extremely dangerous.

Without warning, a massive storm struck the waterfront district of East City in the early evening on January 14th.  The storm was so severe that all aircraft within 200 miles were routed away from it, some set in holding patterns while others were forced to land elsewhere.  Amid the confusion, a three-square-mile chunk of property, centered on Titanacorp's head office, lifted up and flew away.

Early Saturday night, before the West City Technological Museum closed its Early Communications exhibit, a band of Knights, led by a seven foot tall man clad in what looked to be antiquated armour, broke in and stole several priceless artifacts. Police on the crime scene said it was calculated, albeit theatrical, and much of the Museum was damaged in the attack. Dr. Troy Zonas, Chair of the West City University Archaeology department and owner of the publishing company Heorot-Scylding, called the incident "A shameful excuse for humanity to witness" and volunteered several hundred thousand zenny to help repair the Museum.

Ashkadros Destroyed!
 +

 +
Riots broke out in the aftermath of a special SAF announcement today. A SAF Media Affairs officer announced at a press conference that a special unit of SAF members had penetrated the lair of the lich Ashkadros and destroyed both him and his means of return, making the world a much safer place. However, it appears that the destruction of the lich has not resulted in the immediate decay of his foul magic, for there have been reports of mindless undead wandering the country. Citizens are advised to be cautious, and to report any undead sightings to the Ranger Guard.
 +

 +
(While few are aware of the true facts, the SAF did not actually do this. Instead, it was a unit of the Kamikanatsuchi, a militant religious order, founded by Padre Stefan Asteriadis in the aftermath of the Null, dedicated to hunting down creatures both undead and demonic. The only ones that know the true facts are high-ranking SAF officers and high-ranking Cardinal governmental officials.)

High-Stakes Battle At Fort Fallenwood
 +

 +
Late yesterday evening, fighting broke out in Fort Fallenwood as a group of uniformed, militant martial artists assaulted the Cardinalian Bullion Depository. The installation had recently been updated with anti-power wielder defenses, but the terrorists were somehow able to bypass them, according to non-military power wielders who had responded to the scene.
 +

 +
The intent of the attackers was unknown, though many speculated they planned to steal large amounts of gold bullion from the Depository. The Ranger Guard were reportedly unable to respond immediately to the attack, so Ranger officials broadcasted a general assistance request to unassociated powerwielders on the PAD system. Several power wielders responded promptly, and the threat was eventually repelled.
 +

 +
However, rumors are circulating in the Government District that the PAD message may be condemned, due to extensive collateral damage and serious misconduct believed to be directly caused by the marshalled militia. An anonymous source reports that due to uncontrolled fighting within the building, extensive damage was caused to the defenses and certain valuable assets within. One human power wielder responding to the PAD call was even incapacitated by a demihuman would-be militia defender, said an official from St. Michael's Hospital, causing an increase in the already recently elevated fighting between human and demihuman racial groups.
 +

 +
The Ranger Guard confirmed they had secured one of the responding power wielders for questioning, but declined to release the person's identifying information, and the reasons for questioning.
 +

 +
The terrorist group that attacked the Depository was identified as appearing to be the same group who perpetrated several other massed burglary attacks earlier this year, including the kidnapping of Councilwoman Goodthorpe, who was later rescued by a good samaritan power wielder. The military stated that it did not yet have any solid leads on the group, but told reporters that yesterday's attack would inevitably accelerate the investigation. "Every time they make a move," said Command Sergeant Major Arnold Blackraggen, of the Ranger Guard, "they take a chance of being discovered. We're watching and preparing for a time when they make a mistake, with both eyes open, and that's when we'll be able to bring this terrorist group to justice."

Ingred Released on Bail, Good and Bad on Both Sides.
Current Events columnist for the Central City Post Zad Ingred was released this morning on 500,000 zenny bail.  By anonymous means, the columnist had acquired a video tape of a human killing Odayakana Kyoujin, a porcupine demi.  His vitriolic column caused his arrest the next day by Central City police. A statement from the Cardinal Prosecutor's Office was released, stating their expectation of a quick trial and a certainty of a guilty verdict. Ingred refused to comment to reporters as he was apprehended from his office or when he was released from confinement. However sources say that he spoke briefly to a young man in a suit as the police arrived to arrest him.  The man in the suit had quickly disappeared and police have described him as a 'person of interest' in the case, beginning to search for his identity and current location.

Meanwhile, small uprisings have sprouted in various areas of suburbs surrounding several cities.  Radical extremist groups, long considered the home of the rare wack-jobs and nutcases in racially-integrated Cardinal, seem to be targeting demi-humans more boldly now. They may even go as far as to vandalize newly-immigrated demi-humans' establishments. A few cases of aggravated assault on demi-humans by masked men have even been reported.

A spat between an innocent human and a vicious porcupine-like demi-human turned into a deadly brawl for survival today in Central City.  The incident was recorded by an anonymous citizen on their cellular phone and transferred to our newspaper where I received the footage.  The demi-human, savagely displaying his supposed superior strength, attempted to impale the lone human with his quills.  After several minutes of intense conflict the human walked away the victor.  Now the true question is this.  Was what he did right?  I say ABSOLUTELY!  Those beasts and brutes have no place on our furless lands!  He was just defending his peace and the safety of humans everywhere!  If you see this human pat him on the back, he did this world a favor. ~Zad Ingred, Central City Post Journalist.

Demons Overrun North City Ruins, Aid In Reconstruction and Relief Efforts

Unannounced, the demonness Alida Blandine appeared after a year-long absence. An unidentified airborne object with a diameter of roughly three miles has taken up post over North City, and appears to be the source of the demons. Eyewitnesses report several mortal survivors have been taken aboard the flying object.

Over a two-day period of time, an army of mortal mercenaries and their power-wielding commander, acting under the command of Zachary Boskonovich, laid siege to the whole of North City in a sudden, unprovoked attack. The city remained secured for several hours before word of its takeover reached the media, and several power-wielders immediately set out to rectify the situation.

The hero of the incident, one Rey Czupryna of Westphalia, was acclaimed by local officials for his bravery. The other power wielder was never identified.

The Ranger Guard said they were still investigating the scene to discover the person or group responsible for bombing the intersection, but had not yet come across any strong leads.

Suicide in Central

A man apparently leaped from the penthouse suite of a high-end apartment building in the late hours of the night. His body was reported to police immediately. Police have declined to identify the man pending the notification of next of kin, but have said that he is known to them.

Foul play is not currently suspected.

Dangerous Criminal's Crime Spree Ends

The formerly unknown, dangerous Saiyan who has plagued East City with violence was killed in a hostage situation earlier today. After taking over the Museum of Natural Wonders, he and his army of Ki Demons were valiantly stopped by the Ranger Guard and a civilian. The Ranger Guard were forced to kill the Saiyan because he had just ordered the deaths of all of the hostages in the building. Five local officers were injured in the battle, but there were no casualties, other than the suspect.

Deius Castle Changes Hands

Alothin later declined to comment on questions asked about the appearance of Shenron on castle property, two days earlier, or whether it had anything to do with the castle's changing of hands.

Shenron Grants Wish at Deius Castle

The eternal dragon of Earth, Shenron, appeared and granted someone on Deius Castle a wish. The identity of the wisher is unknown, though many assume that Alothin, owner of Empirical Industries, was behind it. The effects of the wish were not immediately apparent. The Dragonballs will respawn all over the planet in exactly one year.

Mass Kidnapping in West City!

As well, evidence in the alleyway behind the building points to a lesser struggle, but details of this are forthcoming.

Villain Apprehended: The Initiative Reveals Itself

A small gathering of a few hundred people were gathered that day for a festival for a minor nondescript religion when they were attacked viciously by five suspects. The first appeared to be a large saiyan accompanied by four humanoid looking men. They first attacked and killed their spiritual leader then proceeded to attack the innocent people.

The unknown female saiyan is wanted for questioning by the Ranger Guard and a sketch has been released to all central city and northern city mortal police precincts.

East City Attacked

A 'great beast' attacked the city shortly before nightfall. With him was what many refer to a demon. The two creatures murdered at least ten people.

Rumor travels that some of the grotesque, mutated beasts that have been plaguing Ka and its borderlands were sighted a great distance away, in the An-Yneaithan city of Cyrr late one evening, caged and sedated and under heavy armed guard. The creatures managed to break loose suddenly during a problem with one of the wagons, and a bloodbath ensued. Rumors vary on how many died and how the massacre was put to an end, but Cyrr still stands and several rumors corroborate that a particularly powerful Redcap and a foreigner of varying description were instrumental in bringing the beasts down.

A wagon driver was hanged for gross negligence and mass manslaughter soon thereafter. Nothing seems to substantiate what the creatures were doing in Cyrr, sedated and caged -- speculation runs wild.

South City in State of Emergency!

A power wielder today attacked a major bank in South City and levelled the building to the ground. The alleged perpetrator has been captured by the Ranger Guard and is being detained awaiting trial. His identity has not yet been released. The total death toll is estimated in the hundreds but an exact measure will not be known until recovery crews finish digging out the building.

Bombing in West City

Late-night market revelers had their hopes dashed as the Black Knights once again struck deep into the heart of Central City. At least thirty are confirmed dead, a number of people injured when the infamous knights released some sort of acidic toxin into the air. A battle between the Knights and a mysterious dark ensued, until the Ranger Guard descended upon the scene. Alas, it was too late, the Black Knights had already escaped, but the other power wielders involved were detained pending an investigation into the needless collateral damage surrounding the area.

Chaos vs. EI?

Press Release Announces Educational Charity

A press release was issued on Monday, February 19th, from the corporate headquarters of Cardinalian financial-industry leader Magister Finance. It announced the formation of the Catabella Magister Memorial Foundation, in memory of murdered Magister heir Catabella Magister.

The Foundation is an organization dedicated to promoting higher education and responsible training for young power-wielders. As its first actions, the Foundation has made substantial donations to a number of Cardinal universities and small training facilities, and will seek to provide further support in the form of donations, sponsorships, and scholarships to those institutions which provide education without bias against th empowered, or training in the responsible use of superhuman abilities of all types.

Little Guys Tread Upon

On Sunday evening, an aspiring group of technological experts laboring diligently on a project that has only been related to the media as 'Echelon,' met an unfortunate road block. Two women, unidentified but presumed to be power-wielders, entered a laboratory based in East City and outright stole all information relevant to the product the men and women had been designing. Though the scientists have been surprisingly tight-lipped with authorities, general grumblings have been sent in Empirical Industries' direction. No clear connection can be gleaned with how uncooperative the individuals involved are being, though some are beginning to speculate...

Two men were injured in the attack, and both were reportedly in stable condition a few hours later.

McEathon Arrested!

Demolition or Destruction of the Unfittest?

The Black Knights terrorized Central City Saturday afternoon with mass robbery and the damage of massive amounts of demolition crews on schedule to destroy some old buildings. Unlike the escalation of the past few occurances, the Black Knights allowed all safe passage as they worked, until three ruthless demi-humans tried their hands, and forced a battle. The houses were gutted, and no one died during the raid.

January 25, 2007

Central City Chaos

The Black Knights have struck again! The band of criminals have continued with their targetting of demi-humans and aliens around Cardinal with dismal results from the power wielding community. In the last raid, only the Black Knight himself and two of his underlings took to the scene murdering and causing mayhem as they went through a two block section of Central Capital's lower income area thursday night. One avenger, a reptilian demi-human, was said to oppose the Black Knight's massacre, but nothing is known about his identity or whereabouts. Gross collateral damage reported.

January 20, 2007

Slaughter in West

Exodus!

No missing persons have been reported, and despite the scale of the event there were few injuries, no deaths, and surprisingly little property damage, save for the gaping triangular hole left in a heavily trafficked area of East City.

Lost History

New Threat?

Around 7 PM there was an unknown attack on West City's federal reserve. No one claims to have seen anything of who or what had caused it, but a mortal who wishes to remain anonymous said that it was some kind of demon, with two demonic beings with him. He also notes that a demihuman and some other mage-being fought with the demon before he escaped.

The reserves totalled up the monetary losses, but those numbers were not released by press time.

Ashkadros Destroyed!

Late yesterday evening, fighting broke out in Fort Fallenwood as a group of uniformed, militant martial artists assaulted the Cardinalian Bullion Depository. The installation had recently been updated with anti-power wielder defenses, but the terrorists were somehow able to bypass them, according to non-military power wielders who had responded to the scene.

The Ranger Guard confirmed they had secured one of the responding power wielders for questioning, but declined to release the person's identifying information, and the reasons for questioning.

Murder or Justice?

New undead raider balked

The port town of Kilsner was attacked tonight by a band of unknown undead villains. The band seemed to be comprised of a variety of undead but were lead by a strange skeletal figure wielding a sword. Among those on the scene were a man with a staff who did not give his name however reports were given that he single handedly stopped the leader. Also to heed the call was Ranger Guard Carson Andreaus who succeeded in dispatching one of the skeletons minions. The skeleton in the way however escaped by unknown means.

Whole families dissappear.

Several homes in south city were recently ransaacked. There is no evidence of who could have done this and every member of each family is completely missing. Cops have no leave, but one man claimed to see a man with a hood and a cape wielding an odd sword who was walking down the road, whistling.

South City Crime Scene Burns to Ground

The scene of Selene Alexander's previous assault on South City, the location of the ill-fated charity ball, was razed to the ground by incendiary bombs. Burning debris, assumably from the explosion, set several nearby buildings afire, and toppled portions of several more. One unidentified body was found among the wreckage, and the sole individual to have witnessed the battle, whose identity is being withheld by police, gave a description of a heavily cloaked psion with a small army of henchmen.

Charity Ball Interrupted

South City's annual charity event against poverty was suddenly interrupted when Selene Alexander and her band of criminals invaded the scene, wishing to steal from the rich and famous of Cardinal. They were met with resistance as one Catabella Magister, sole heir of the Magister enterprises, stepped up and struck down one of the vampire's henchmen, who quickly turned to ash. In response for her feat, Alexander reacted violently, killing the demihuman and fleeing the scene almost soon after.

Bates Quarry Targeted By Succubus

After a brief lull in activity, everyone's favorite hip-swiveling demon made another appearance, this time at a remote mine outside of North City. The entire day's work was a payload of a rare mineral with many industrial applications, and with minimal efforts and no injuries reported, the succubus stole all of it and whisked away in her trademark fashion. Three power-wielders were on the scene, one of whom was captured by the demon before she fled.

Terror Continues to grip the South

Only three days after the last two robberies, a new one has occurred in a manufacturing plant near the outskirts of South City. Several parts and pieces of equipment, as well as whole ones, were stripped and stolen by the unknown group of perpetrators. Two individuals were found on the scene, one dead on the rooftop drained of his blood, and a young woman lying on the sidewalk outside of the plant. The woman seemed to have lost a lot of blood as well, though there were no wounds evidenced on her person. She was taken to the hospital for immediate care.

String of robberies occur in South City

Last night, two prominent robberies were perpetrated in the usually peaceful South City of Cardinal. The perpetrators were an unknown group of individuals which were evidenced to be power wielders of some kind. Security cameras only caught glimpses of these people, as they sacked a bank first and then a jewelry shop later on during the evening. The guards at the bank were minimally injured, though they were diagnosed with having some sort of anemia when they were taken to the hospital. No one was found neither injured nor killed at the jewelry shop.

Councilwoman Rescued

Nearly three weeks after a tragic kidnapping that involved a score of combatants and left nearly as many innocents dead, Directional Councilwoman Goodthorpe was recovered safely by a single, freelance power wielder who managed to overhear her interrogation. Unlike previous high-stakes engagements, Goodthorpe described her rescue as "discreet and skillful", with a minimum of damage to the abandoned convenience store she was discovered in, and no casualties. According to reports, the attackers fled after being clearly outmatched in combat. Goodthorpe did not appear to be injured.

The power wielder responsible for the rescue refused to surrender his name, and was not available for comment. Councilwoman Goodthorpe went on to comment publically that the new military forces need new recruits like her rescuer. She also stressed that persons of power have been increasingly targeted lately, and that all available precautions should be taken.

The reasons for Goodthorpe's capture are still mysterious. Police say that Goodthorpe was subjected to repeated interrogations about "Cardinal's secrets" wherein bodily harm was threatened but never caused. She said she was otherwise humanely treated, given a place to sleep and food to eat. The alleged "mastermind" did not make any personal visits, she reported.

Village Slaughtered!

Investigators looking into an anonymous tip discovered that an entire village had been slaughtered, nearby North City, apparently by power-wielding means! Initially, there were fears that the lich Ashkadros had struck again, but investigators report that their findings indicate that is not so. Investigators claim to have found no sign of undead traces at the site, and bodies appear to have been left behind rather than stolen, as is the lich's usual modus operandi. While law enforcement agencies are calling for calm, fears are rising that a previously unknown villain has entered the fray with a high bodycount in mind. We can only hope that the Ranger Guard can deal with this new threat expeditiously.

Assault on Auditorium Thwarted

Once again, the uniformed martial artists associated with "Gi Xuan" made a daring attempt to kidnap Staff Sergeant Richard Bellman, one of the few Cardinal Army officers responsible for training the newly founded Ranger Guard. Bellman was to present a speech to potential Guard recruits in the Nailgun Auditorium in East City this evening.

The kidnappers were overwhelmed by several power wielders, many of whom had come to listen to the lecture. Most of them were taken into military custody. Bellman suffered only minor injuries in his attempted abduction.

The East City Police made a statement shortly after the capture of the attackers. "We are having great difficulty discovering information about the uniformed suspects, or their rumored leader. The martial artists must be kept sedated at all times to prevent their escape, and in that state, they seem to be exceptionally resistant to traditional police interrogation. The Army is now taking things into its own hands, but without a permanent, worthwhile facility to hold the suspects, we are witholding optimism until it is appropriate," stated Commissioner Davis.

Power-Wielder Found Dead Outside West City Teahouse

Today an exchange of words between a young woman and a slightly older man ended with one killing the other. The two were seen together in the Ichiban Tea House, where the man (identified as Koji Deahan) struck at the woman without provocation. She was then seen exiting the tea house as Koji followed. Though the shop owner did not pursue them for fear of his own safety, eye witnesses outside of the shop report a brief skirmish between the two of them that left Deahan critically wounded as the female seemed to simply vanish altogether. Though the girl visited the tea house infrequently, the owner of the establishment could not provide police with a name, only an accurate physical description.

Unknown group of murderers suddenly halted

A certain unknown faction of individuals armed with cutting edge technology had been known to assault power wielders for quite some time. Sometimes their efforts were thwarted, but many times they managed to do away with at least one of their targets at any given time. However, today their efforts were summarily halted as they encountered a saiyan woman who completely incinerated their leader. The rest of the squadron dispersed, whether to lick their wounds or to forever disappear.

Selene Alexander whipped like a ten year old girl

Yesterday, supermodel Selene Alexander found herself on the receiving end of James Kaider's literal discipline belt. This occurred due to some error of miscommunication, as the two prominent figures found themselves at the same location and time, each scheduled for their individual photo shoots. An argument ensued, in which Selene called Kaider and one of his sisters (no name was specified) a "bitch". James Kaider responded by grabbing a cameraman's belt and whipping her as if he would punish a child of his. One member of the crew managed to take a picture (several in fact), selling them and the story to a newspaper. The headline appeared today. Sources tell that Alexander's career has been ground to a halt, as no one would want someone such as her endorsing their products. Selene herself was unavailable for comment.

As an alternative to the newspaper headline, the security videos of the incident were dispersed among the internet for further viewing pleasure.

Directional Councilwoman Goodthorpe Kidnapped!

Cardinal Directional Councilwoman Chalice Goodthorpe was kidnapped today at a fundraiser event she was hosting, at the top of her high-rise condo on August 31st. The suspects resembled the same colored ninja martial artists who committed two other acts of villainy earlier this month.

They were met by local power wielders, who engaged them in a ferocious battle which some described as "totally barbaric", and managed to kill 11 innocent bystanders and seriously injure 8 others. One suspect was also killed in the fighting. In a turn of events, witnesses say they overheard a short conversation between one of the power wielders, identified only as "Koji", and several of the suspects. A "Gi Xuan" was named by the power wielder, and one of the suspects referred to the same person as their "Master". This may imply a powerful criminal mastermind is behind the recent series of attacks and robberies.

Police are now seeking both "Koji" and "Gi Xuan", and a reward has been posted for anyone with information leading to the safe return of the Councilwoman, or to either of the above-named individuals.

Directional Council Unveils Dramatic Series of Laws

Today, the Directional Council announced the signing into law of several critical bills. Bills 162 through 166 lay down the rights and responsibilities as power wielders as citizens, recognizing them as common people under the law, while granting them certain extra rights due to their uncommon powers. The Bills (collectively called the Power Wielder Acts), also sign into law the existance of two new government agencies -- the Ranger Guard and the Special Adept Forces. Recruiting and training has already begun on these power wielding military/paramilitary forces. As well, they announced the signing of a treaty with Alaris to construct a new prison on an isolated island, sufficiently secure to contain the vast majority of power wielding criminals.

Explosion Rocks North Sector of Central

After failing to respond quickly to a bank robbery performed by costumed martial artists in Central Capital, three power wielders tracked the thieves to what authorities say was an abandoned warehouse in the North Sector of the city. They immediately attacked the facility. After what was obviously reckless fighting on one or both sides, the entire facility was destroyed in a tremendous explosion that caused several million zenny in damage, not counting any stolen goods that may have been inside the warehouse. In addition, a freight truck was also destroyed, and in the ensuing explosion, a civillian car was crushed, killing the driver. The attackers suffered no casualties, but two thieves were taken into custody by police, and two more were killed. Others were believed to have escaped on vehicles of unknown technology.

A Central Police Lieutenant on the scene was quick to lay blame on the power wielders. "Whether the costumed suspects caused the large explosions tonight or not is not what matters," he explained. "If the (power wielders) had called for reinforcements, or worked as a team, or attacked less carelessly, or done anything that remotely resembled organization rather than random vigilanteism, a lot of damage could have been prevented, here."

Masked Thieves Heist Valuable Relic!

Martial artists dressed as ninja with strong Azsharan accents assaulted the East City Historical Museum of Desert Cultures. What had been originally planned as a silent heist ended up becoming a raging battle on the museum's roof, as Nikolai Viacouslav and Landra Dragon attempted to thwart them. One thief was killed during the battle, and Landra received serious injuries. However, the remaining thieves managed to procure the Ewer of Halashk and get away on a speedy aircraft disguised as a helicopter. No thieves were able to be detained for interrogation. While they were all undoubtedly affiliated, the head and identity of their organization is still a mystery.

Ashkadros attacks Typ-Ing!

Ashkadros, the lich, assaulted Typ-Ing with his undead horde. Few details are available from the survivors, but broken accounts pieced together by intrepid reporters indicate that Chadisekhar and Julia Starfire were seen at the scene, trying to mount an impromptu defense of the town. They fled before his wrath, however, Chadisekhar almost succumbing to the undead necromancer's magical powers. Rumours also abound of a new form of zombie, previously unseen under Ashkadros' control, but these rumours are yet unconfirmed.

Ashkadros attacks Port Goldenwarren!

Ashkadros, the lich, attacked Port Goldenwarren with his undead horde today. Opposing him were Chadisekhar, Ciel Deschaine, and Constance Ina Kaider. Tazmire Corwin also arrived on the scene, but too late to assist -- the lich and his forces had already escaped. The necromancer more or less wiped out the entire port town of twenty thousand souls, and more than eight thousand bodies are estimated to be missing from the wreckage. Numerous underground tunnels collapsed after the undead retreated, causing much destruction to the town's buildings. Notably, the defending heroes managed to wrest the necromancer's staff away from him. Attempts to destroy it were ineffective, and Tazmire Corwin took it away with him, encased in a block of ice until a more permanent method of dealing with it could come.
