Physical Power

Description

Physical power is a totally customizable power type. It must be a modified version of an existing power type (IE:A Ki user who was born without Ki Senses), or muscular or technologically granted power.

All statistics, abilities, disabilities and otherwise must be completely defined by the player, as there is no default physical power. It must be defined either in a character's app, or the character's race. The definition of the power must be balanced with the other three types or it will not be approved. We strongly suggest that you use another, existing power level, and then modify them as you see fit (remembering to keep it balanced), as it may not be approved otherwise.

Physical Power is designed by removing and adding Gimmes and Statistics to a template. Removing Gimmes or Statistics grants Template Days equal to the Base Day cost of an ability. Template days may then be spent on boosting any other Statistic, adding Gimmes from other Power Types, or creating any Custom Gimme that is approvable. Template Days are unique in that Bias and Racial Bonuses such as Natural Born Fighters do not apply to them. Anything purchased with Template Days will always be applied to the Base Day cost. Any Template Days remaining after custom Gimmes or Statistics are selected will be applied towards Techniques. They will reduce the Base Day cost by their total, and afterward any remaining will have Bias and Racial Bonuses applied.

A character with a Physical PL may not gain more than 195 Template Days by removing Statistics or Gimmes. As well, a Physical Template will not be approved if it has more than 45 Template Days remaining after balancing.

Physical power levels are typically insensible by most means of energy detection, although it is not impossible to gain the ability to detect a wide assortment of PhysPL power wielders.

As this power type requires a significant degree of customization, it is recommended only for players that are experienced in Alt DBZ and well-versed in our rules.

Modifying Ki

Physical Power types based off of Ki usually fall into a certain range. The most common use of this is a Physical fighter who functions much as Ki, except they have no Ki Energy Gimmes. However, this can be used to create any kind of character that has a mostly physical durability and fighting style.

Removing the below Gimme will grant the listed amount in Template Days

  • Ki Blasts - 15 Template Days
  • Ki Beams - 15 Template Days
  • Ki Aura Explosion - 30 Template Days
  • Flight - 30 Template Days
  • Ki Senses 45 Template Days
  • Sensible As Ki 45 Template Days

Movement and Ki Speeds, Durability, Eyesight, Natural Charge, Natural Charge Rate, and Natural Charge Cap may be added or removed for their Enhanced CT cost.

Modifying Psionics

Physical Power types based off of Psionics generally are a modified Psion. Perhaps the character is more Telepath than Telekinetic, or perhaps they have abilities that only function against Fire, or Metal, or other such things. However, this can be utilized to create any kind of character that has a mostly energy based fighting style.

Removing the below Gimme will grant the listed amount in Template Days

  • Active Defense - 15 Template Days
  • TK Wave - 15 Template Days
  • TK Rush - 15 Template Days
  • Mental Defense - 30 Template Days
  • Slots - 45 Template Days per Slot, to a max of 3. Additional slots as per Multitask.
  • Sphere of Influence - 90 Template Days
  • Telepathy/Psiography/Minor Telekinetic Articulation - 30 Template Days
  • Super Senses - 90 Template Days
  • Sensible as Psionics - 45 Template Days

AutoKinetic and Telekinetic Speed, Passive Defenses, Psionic Senses, Natural Charge, Natural Charge Rate, and Natural Charge Cap may be added or removed for their Enhanced CT cost.

Modifying Magic

Magic is somewhat different than the others. Most of the time when one sees a Magic based Physical Power build, they do not modify the gimmes very much. Some common examples are characters who utilize Technology instead of spells, a 'Hedge Mage' who has weaker spells, or other such things. Magic based Physical Power builds are fairly uncommon.

  • Sensible as Magic - Grants 45 Template Days
  • Requiring Somatic Components - 90 Template Days must be expended to buy this off.

Natural Charge, Natural Charge Rate, and Natural Charge cap may be added or removed for their Enhanced CT cost
