Description

Focused Defense causes the user to fall into a completely defensive position. From this position, all melee defenses are doubled. However, during this time, the user is locked into defense and may not perform any kind of other maneuver.

Logistics

While using this tech, the user's Melee Speed and all sensory Detection rates are multiplied by 2. All damage suffered by the user's Ki durability is halved. However, user may not move, attack, or perform any non-melee action.

This tech can only be used for a total of three posts per day, though not necessarily in the same session. Upon activating this technique, the character must expend their Natural Charge in stamina. They may apply this to a block.

This tech costs 30 (23/38) tech days.

You can also upgrade this tech to allow the option of making the multiplier 3 instead of 2, and dividing the damage suffered by a third instead of a half. In such instances, however, the tech requires a full post of "power down" in which the user cannot take any action, including defense, before the tech can end and resume normal movement. If this upgrade is completed, the user has full choice between using either variant at any time that the tech is not in use.

This upgrade costs 15 (11/19) tech days.
