"Do not be restricted by your knowledge and experience. This place turns logic upside down. . ." Ipsen's Castle

A sounding board of uncollected thoughts on love.

Why do we love? What makes love? What kinds of love are there? Which type of love is stronger? Is love nonsensical?

Eros and the Soul:

psyche: greek word for soul
Psyche: mythological princess who falls in love with Eros and does impossibe tasks to reclaim the right to be with her husband

perhaps the myth of Psyche and Eros has a deeper meaning? A metaphysical and psychological meaning beyond the love story.
Perhaps it is about the paramour and mystery pertaining to the connection and rapture of our human souls and desire?
What a dangerous, mysterious tale it is, one begun with hiding and intrigue, punishment if discovered and reconciliation
is desire and love master of our soul? Or do we influence it? Who controls love, and desire, can it be controled? To what consequence?

returning to an old lover, a soul I've known for years yet ony seen for a moment, that's love. To wake in the morning and see him snuggled precariously on a couch too short for his body, because he wanted to give you the bed, that's love. To not take advantage of a romantic situation, because it would be easy, but not right, that is love. To give you so much in such a little time, in one lone conversation filled to the brimm with studying each other and their reactions, that is love. To find within another a sweet, soft understanding when the person can be so hard, that is a great love. To turn up the radio when you both love the same song wafting past the other people, that is love. Helping you feel about yourself something wonderful and brave, helping carry you along and not worry or fear about life's dis or advantages, even when inside you both know that you are not the ones for each other, that is love.
Love is not always romance, as many of us can attest. So, what is it? A combination of spiritual bonds, or a religious rite? Perhaps love is a chemical arousal of base instincts?

More soon.
